The Fitbit company are becoming renowned for their reasonably priced fitness watches, which monitor your daily activity, sleep and even notify you if you have an incoming call. It’s safe to say, this is a revolutionary piece of kit that pretty much works as an all-rounder.
Fitbit also have an app which connects to your watch if you have one, or can be used as a solid stand-alone fitness tracker app. The app can use your smartphone’s sensors as a pedometer, use GPS to record running/walking routines, and it even includes a food log should you wish to record calorie-intake data.

Pocket Yoga

Pocket Yoga is like having your own personal yoga instructor with you at all times. You can choose between 27 different sessions with variations in duration and difficulty and track your progress through a log. CNN accolades this app as one of the “10 great mobile health apps”.

Couch to 5k

If you generally don’t have the time to exercise, or if you see yourself as a bit of a ‘couch potato’, and are wanting to get into shape, then use this app. Spend just 20 to 30 minutes, three times a week, following the walk-run workout plan. To get the most of this workout, Couch to 5K advise sticking to your plan for 9 weeks, and after you’ve completed your training, you’ll be ready to finish your first 5K race!
