Valley Leisure has welcomed its 1millionth visitor before the start of March for the first time in its 26-year history.
And the trust expects this to be a record-breaking year.
“We’re delighted that the number of visits to our centres continue to grow,” said Valley Leisure chief executive, Kevin Paterson.
“This is a milestone for both the leisure trust and the community as it shows more people than ever are adopting a healthier lifestyle,” said Kevin.
Visitors to the leisure centres include teenagers on the way to the gym, toddlers in swimming lessons and older people, often on sticks and frames, who are prone to falling, who come to special classes to build up their balance and leg strength.
Valley Leisure visitor numbers are measured from the start of April in one year to the end of March in the next. This year, the millionth customer, in the form of 28-year-old James Dennison, came through the doors of Andover Leisure Centre before the end of February for the first time ever.
The lucky visitor was presented with a gift of a Fit Bit watch and certificate
